AWIS Palo Alto has been connecting Peninsula women in science for more than 3 decades. In fact on April 16th, 2020, we celebrated our 35th anniversary. There are monthly chapter meetings featuring distinguished speakers on a wide range of topics. We invite you to join us and participate in any activities that interest you. The Palo Alto chapter of the Association for Women in Science (AWIS-Palo Alto) was founded in 1983 by Rivka Sherman-Gold to:
- provide networking opportunities for women in science at all levels
- foster career development and advancement for women in science
- raise public awareness of the scientific and technological skills of women
- work with other scientific, educational, and women's organizations in developing national and community programs that meet the above goals
- provide recognition for women scientists in order to advance the above goals
